New to Mini's and showing off

Postby Mcbeefymeatz » Thu Nov 03, 2016 8:59 pm

So I just moved out here a while back and have been showing up on Thursdays at Nemo's and at My Turn on Saturday mornings in Atascadero (though tonight I wasn't able to make it out due to wife aggro). I've been interested in Malifaux and Warmahordes, but I bought a Legions of Everblight package as my first delve into the hobby and got to work on it right away. I decided to do a off-normal color scheme for funzies. Plus I thought painting everything shades of white and gray would get boring. Got a little more work to do on my warlock so I'm too embarrassed to show her off yet, but you get the gist of the theme, GREEN! "Dinosaur-esque in a blighted swamp" Let me know your thoughts. This is the first venture in this area, never done any model painting or basing before so be gentle... Thanks!

Looks great! I like the swampy bases you have too.

I agree, the bases are very nice. And you've managed to pull off that green quite nicely.

For a seasoned painter, those would look good. For new to it, they look great!

Thanks for the likes and comments. I used some Citadel Stirland Mud for the land of the bases and after coloring the water with the nice Straken Green I went back over it with several layers of Citadel 'Ardcoat to give it the wet look. Now I'm eager to show up and play! I plan on sticking to the color scheme with any new models I buy.

I have my Malifaux Brewmaster set now ready for some action as well. I had left over barrels, so I just made scheme markers out of them. Turned out nicely, and I even stuck to a closer to expected paint scheme this time. :P
